launched in december 2023, unruj's inaugural collection delves into the surreal beauty of moroccanberber imagination. Inspired by surrealism and the visionary works of artists such as salvador dalí, rené magritte, marcel duchamp's conceptualism, the whimsical jardin de edward james, and the avant-garde spirit of yves tanguy, we aimed to establish connections between the vibrant, unconventional rugs designed and crafted by moroccan artisans and the surrealist movements of the past.
our exploration sought to uncover the most extraordinary pieces, envisioning their placement within our homes to provoke a creative dialogue.
